Christian Guys: How to View Women Through God’s Eyes

Mighty men of God, I address you as a sister in Christ. You are so important! I applaud you for choosing God and Jesus as your savior. You set the standard not only for society but for your future home as well. Men, you are in a battle. Are you willing to fight for the woman of God’s dreams (yes I said God’s dreams because you couldn’t even imagine the wife He has for you…be excited!)? Are you willing to fight for the family you haven’t even met yet?

As Christians we are called to stand apart and there will be times when we will be mocked for it. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me” (Matt. 5:11-12). As a young man, you are expected, according to society, to treat women as objects of your sexual desire. Where do you begin seeing women through God’s eyes in this sex-crazed world? Here is a woman broken down, backed by the Word of our Creator, to help you:

1)  His daughter– “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Gen. 1:27). In a male dominated society, it was important for people to know God created both male AND female. As you already know, we are in a fallen world and God especially wanted men to know (in the Jewish culture before Christ, men were the ones who learned scripture) just as you are His son, women are His daughters.

2)  Sister– She is your sister in Christ first. Regardless if you are in a relationship or are looking for one, you are responsible for her as a member in the family of Christ. “Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.” (Romans 14:13). As a reminder, why not address her that way by putting Sister in front of her name?

3)  Treasure– She is something to be sought after and valued. It is YOUR job to find your wife (with God’s help of course). You are the head of the household even now. Be the leader you are called to be and find her. “The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the LORD” (Prov. 18:22). When you find her, treat her what she is worth. Want to know how much? “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies” (Prov. 31:10).

Brothers, mighty men of God, you are important. The standards you set now before you are married will carry over into marriage. Start looking at women with God’s eyes and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I pray you will start learning and teach God’s blessings, standards, and will for your life.

Baskets of Blessings!
