Little Girl: God Loves You
LITTLE GIRL
This past March I shared my testimony in front of my church of about 1200 people (with all three services combined). I shared my pain, struggles, and most of all the triumph I had with sexually purity through my relationship with Jesus Christ. People said I had a lot of courage. People were able to relate. People supported me. However, something deep within me started to surface. It was anger.
I was angry with God. Since I know God is real and he wants me to be real with my emotions and questions, I asked him, “Why did I have to go through these things?” “Why couldn’t I just be a little girl?” This anger and sadness followed me to a prayer meeting and while the worship portion was going on I was watching this little girl. She was dancing with her arms in the air, eyes sparkling, in her pajamas. She was free. She was smiling. She was being a little girl. I was jealous. “Why couldn’t that have been me?” I wept.
Even now as I write and as I’m remembering I can’t help but have tears come down my face. I had to be strong for so long. I came from a divorced family, got into physical fights at school, and my innocence was lost at the start of sexual activity at the age of twelve. I couldn’t BE a little girl, which is funny because my name, Nina, in Spanish literally means “little girl”.
After I spoke at another function I still had this sadness with me. As I came and sat down next to my friend she told me she had a message from God. She wrote it down. She said, “ He wants you to know something.” Let me stop for a second just to say that I didn’t share this heartache with ANYONE. She showed me His message.
God loves you very much. You are His little girl.
Then she underlined two words that freed me.
God loves you very much. You are His little girl.
Can I just tell you that God is real? He listens to you. He will speak life into you. He came to set the captives free from ALL bondage. He is a healer. His words are unique to your soul. He is faithful and most of all…He loves you. Yes, you. Regardless of your past or things you will do in the future. Be real with Him and He will be real with you. Go to you Daddy and sit on His lap for a while. Allow Him to show you His love. You are also His little girl. In Jesus’ mighty name!
If you don’t have a relationship with Jesus or you want to recommit your life to Him, please read, “The Sinner’s Prayer”, this is just a start in your journey with God. It is a verbal declaration to your Creator. If you’ve said it, let someone know and find a bible-based church family to join. Welcome! or Welcome back!
Jesus, family, ministry, and lots of coffee! My heart comes from being a young teen girl who didn’t know much and found Jesus in a dark time. My ministry focuses on the heart of God for this generation to make Godly decisions especially in the area of purity. A blog for all ages because God’s Word is eternal and has no age limit!
