Teenage Prayers: Praying for Your Future Spouse
Teenage Prayers: Praying for Your Future Spouse
Lord, I lift up my future spouse to you, wherever they may be, and ask for encouragement. There are times when I feel discouraged because they have yet to enter my life or I feel as if it will never happen. Lord I pray for my spouse during those moments that they will turn to You and never give up (Rom. 12:12). I pray they will remain in your guidance, direction, and continue to be obedient in remaining sexually pure (1 Peter 1:14). I pray they won’t give up.
Lord, allow them to remain hopeful (Psalm 71:14) and be encouraged by the Word of God that continues to refresh us even when we are most impatient (Psalm 31:24). I pray you protect my future spouse from spirits of suicide, depression, lust, confusion, and other attacks from the enemy that may pull them from Your will. I cancel any attacks against my future spouse with the authority given to me on the cross that day by the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, breathe life into my future spouse, speak into those intimate places in their hearts, and give them words of encouragement to fight the good fight (1 Tim. 6:12). Continue to mold me into the spouse You want me to be and train me to stand in the gap for my future spouse, even before I meet them. I pray they will pray for me as I’m praying for them.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Praying Scriptures:
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philip. 1:6)
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Rom. 5:5)
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
